Golf holidays in Agadir at a glance
Agadir sits on a long sandy bay on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, and it has quietly become the country’s most dependable golf destination. Its five courses are all within about 40 minutes of the bay. The ocean keeps temperatures mild in every month, and most hotels are a short drive from the first tee.
It suits golfers who want consistency: the same good weather whether you travel in January or August, flat and forgiving resort courses, and a beach to come back to in the afternoon.

Which golf courses can you play in Agadir?
Tazegzout Golf Club, Taghazout Bay
The reason many golfers choose Agadir. Kyle Phillips, who also designed Al Maaden in Marrakech, strung 18 holes along the cliffs above the Atlantic north of the city. Argan trees line the fairways and you see the sea from almost every tee. The breeze changes club selection through the afternoon, and several holes play directly towards the ocean. The changes in elevation make distance control the whole game. It is included in every Agadir golf pass, and the Taghazout Bay hotels are minutes away.
Soleil Golf Club (Tikida and Championship courses)
Thirty-six holes on one site, split between the Tikida course and the longer Championship course. Soleil is flat, walkable, well conditioned and dependable in any month. That is why it appears in every one of our Agadir passes, and the 5-round pass includes both of its courses. The Tikida Golf Palace is surrounded by the club, with all 36 holes on site.
Ocean Golf Club
Ocean plays through eucalyptus and argan, and it is the course where Agadir’s afternoon wind matters most. A caddy is compulsory here, so budget for one when you plan the round.
Dunes Golf Club
Dunes gives you three interchangeable nines, so no two rounds need to feel the same. A scout caddy is compulsory.
For how these compare with Marrakech’s courses, see our ranking of the best golf courses in Morocco, where Tazegzout and Soleil both make the top twelve.
Which Agadir golf pass should you choose?
Every Agadir pass covers green fees only, for one named golfer, with tee times pre-booked by us:
- 3-round pass: Soleil (Tikida or Championship), Tazegzout, and Dunes or Ocean.
- 4-round pass: Soleil (Tikida or Championship), Tazegzout, Ocean and Dunes.
- 5-round pass: both Soleil courses, Tazegzout, Ocean and Dunes, so you play every course in Agadir.
Buggies, trolleys and caddies are paid locally. Current prices are in the table below, and you can compare them with the Marrakech tiers on our golf passes page.
Where should you stay for golf in Agadir?
Most golfers stay in one of two places.
Taghazout Bay, north of the city, is the base for Tazegzout. The Hyatt Regency Taghazout Bay and Fairmont Taghazout Bay are minutes from the course. The Hilton Taghazout Bay, the Hyatt Place Taghazout Bay and the all-inclusive Pickalbatros White Beach Resort are on the same stretch of coast.
Agadir bay keeps you on the promenade, close to restaurants and the beach. Golfers choose the Sofitel Agadir Thalassa Sea & Spa, the Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay or The View Agadir, or 4★ hotels such as the Iberostar Waves Founty Beach for better value. If you want golf on the doorstep, the Tikida Golf Palace has Soleil’s 36 holes on site and the Hyatt Place sits just above Tazegzout, both with free golf shuttles.
Agadir’s beach resorts, many of them all-inclusive, tend to undercut equivalent Marrakech hotels, particularly in summer. See all our all-inclusive golf holidays if that is how you like to travel.
When is the best time to play golf in Agadir?
Any month. The Atlantic holds daytime highs between 21°C and 28°C all year, so Agadir is the warmest reliable golf in Morocco in December and January. It is also the sensible choice from June to September, when inland Marrakech regularly passes 38°C.
The trade-off is wind. Atlantic courses can blow through the afternoon, particularly in spring. That is part of the fun at Tazegzout and part of the challenge at Ocean, so we usually book morning tee times on the most exposed courses. Our month-by-month guide has the full picture.
What does a golf week in Agadir look like?
A typical seven-night Agadir golf holiday is five rounds and two free days:
- Arrive at Agadir airport, private transfer to your hotel.
- Soleil, Championship course.
- Tazegzout, with a long lunch at Taghazout afterwards.
- Free day: the beach, or a trip to Paradise Valley or Taroudant.
- Ocean, with an early tee time before the breeze builds.
- Dunes, choosing two of its three nines.
- Soleil, Tikida course, then a seafood dinner on the promenade.
- Transfer to the airport.
Can you combine Agadir with Marrakech?
Yes. Marrakech is about 250 km away, three hours on the A7 motorway, and a two-centre week is one of our most requested trips. Typically that is three nights and rounds in Marrakech, then three in Agadir, with an optional stop in Essaouira for the Mogador course on the way down. Our comparison of Marrakech vs Agadir for a golf holiday explains which suits whom, and our Morocco golf tours show how multi-centre trips are put together.
What is there to do in Agadir off the course?
Agadir was rebuilt after the 1960 earthquake and is a modern beach resort rather than a historic city. Days off revolve around the six-kilometre beach and its promenade, thalassotherapy spas along the bay, and surf schools at Taghazout. For culture, take a day trip to Essaouira or Taroudant, or drive into the hills to Paradise Valley. We arrange all of these as excursions and leisure tours.
